The Role
Three months, between November 2008 and February 2009, with the technology arm of a commercial automotive group owning several Renault dealerships and authorized service workshops in Venezuela.
Dealership Management System
I joined an active, ongoing software initiative: the group's proprietary platform managing day-to-day automotive dealership operations, incorporating CRM capabilities (lead generation, customer follow-up, vehicle sales pipelines) alongside ERP features (parts inventory, workshop repair scheduling). I engineered backend modules in native PHP and MySQL within an engineering team of four developers and a project lead.
Stepping into an existing large-scale codebase that other engineers have been writing for months is a distinct exercise from greenfield development: one must absorb and respect established patterns and team conventions before writing a single line of code.
Visual Design
I also designed the official corporate logo for Goto Systems and created the homepage layout for their corporate web presence.
