Context
NeoSepelios required a specialized platform to generate service quotations, execute sales, and issue legally compliant electronic tax invoices directly through Argentina's federal tax agency (Administración Federal de Ingresos Públicos - AFIP). The funeral services sector involves intricate operational nuances—varying insurance policies, municipal fees, and burial coverage riders—that the application needed to accommodate seamlessly.
Architecture
Backend engineered in PHP on Laravel, utilizing Lumen micro-services for lightweight API endpoints, and AngularJS powering the tablet-optimized frontend client. Choosing Lumen for auxiliary service endpoints reflected pragmatic resource management: lightweight transactional tasks did not warrant booting the full monolithic framework stack.
My Role
I led the architecture and software engineering from inception to deployment. This marked my first formal engineering leadership role with direct team oversight, as well as the first national sovereign tax integration of my career—laying the architectural foundation for the Chilean SII electronic invoicing system I built years later.
