The Period
Two years, from January 2023 to December 2024, operating remotely for international clients in the US, Colombia, and Venezuela across three distinct technical disciplines: architectural 3D visualization (which represented the largest volume of work), custom WordPress and WooCommerce engineering, and legacy system recovery.
Architectural 3D Visualization
My primary recurring client was an American homebuilder who provided architectural floor plans and CAD drawings for catalog 3D modeling and rendering: nearly forty residential home models constructed in SketchUp, rendered in Lumion, and post-processed in Photoshop, alongside a promotional cinematic walk-through for one of their flagship communities.
WooCommerce Catalog Synchronization
For a Colombian luxury watch retailer, I developed a custom plugin that synchronizes WooCommerce product catalogs, pricing, and live inventory levels directly from CSV exports generated by their corporate ERP. It has its own project case study.
This was a private B2B wholesale platform rather than an open public storefront: verified retailers and distributors accessed custom product visibility where specific watch brands and model years were assigned dynamically via custom WordPress taxonomies.
I also designed and launched three custom WordPress websites for US businesses in commercial landscaping, tax advisory services, and vehicle rentals.
Inventory System Recovery for El Sistema (National Youth Orchestra)
The most technically demanding engineering project of this period: recovering the nationwide instrument inventory tracking system for Venezuela's renowned youth orchestra network (El Sistema). The production server crashed and the live codebase was lost, leaving only an incomplete, broken development backup. It has its own project case study.
The system was built with Yii, a framework I had not previously encountered. With extensive background across PHP and related MVC frameworks, I reverse-engineered the application structure, debugged database relations, and restored complete operational integrity.
This also marked my first containerized client production deployment with Docker, establishing automated deployment pipelines from GitHub Actions, building upon Docker experience I had refined across personal infrastructure since departing PortalWeb.
Design Toolchain
This period solidified an integrated technical design workflow: Photoshop and Illustrator dating back to Softrain, Figma since PortalWeb for UI design systems, and in 3D modeling evolving from Blender to Cinema 4D, and ultimately to SketchUp and Lumion for architectural visualization.
